Review:

Arrival and before the games start.

On Arrival, the site is very easy to find, simply follow signs for the quays pub and the airsoft site is towards the back of the car park ( hard to miss!).

Safe Zone has covered areas and benches to put all of your gear on that is off the ground. Safe zone also has 2 cabins; 1 for the shop and booking in and 1 for making tea and coffee with bacon rolls for sale on the open day.

Briefing

Briefing was short and sweet covering all the main points and site rules and boundary’s, although it did cover all the health and safety points, I did feel it missed a few basic points eg.bang kills etc. but being the open day it was all regular players so may of been left out for this reason.

Game Play

We are normally milsim players so have not been massively into open days over the last few years but on the day I couldn’t stop smiling it was full of great players, good games ( all though alot of trial and error being the first day). Throughout the day we experienced no issues with cheating and all games where played fair and fast moving.

Up points

- Well run

- Friendly staff

-lots of potential for site

- Various areas dense woodland / open areas / different flanking points

- Site isn’t “over sold” and limited numbers enabling better game play.

Down Points

- lack of features on the site ( all though new features seem to being built on a weekly basis from viewing pictures on facebook)

- sites quite long and narrow so can be at times quite along walk back to the safe zone.

- Games- i think it may be quite hard to think of lots of new games to stop game days being repetitive

To Finish,

8/10 Given a few months the site should be well built with more features as long as they keep going as they have started it will be a very promising new site.

Review:

Arrival and before the games start.

When arriving the location was fairly easy to find with a Marshall standing next to the car park across the road to guide you in. Its just a short walk to the game site from the car park.

When entering the building there was a desk to pay and sign in at before entering the safe zone. Upon entering the safe zone there are 2 large rooms with tables and chairs, however despite the fairly large areas, all spaces where full before we got there due to the large amount of people and some people were taking up more than one spot with all their kit.

Briefing

What can i say! I was warned before I got there to take a seat during the briefing and I’m glad I took that advice, its one very long brief! Although it seemed to cover all aspects I did see people shutting off and not paying attention due to the length.

Game Play

Game ideas were great with a lot of variation and movement from simple clear out, secure sections and find Intel. No particular games were the same and it kept you thinking about what you had to do. Being our first time it took a few games to get to know the game site but once you did it made it a lot easier.

Another good point was the terminator game, there was a giant terminator walking about which I had never seen on another site! It was nice to see a site that put some effort into the game rather than just old lap tops, ammo tins etc.

One huge problem I found that ruined the day was the amount of blatant cheating although I did speak to one of the marshals regarding one of the incidences, they said it was resolved but throughout the day all of us within the group found the same thing happening ( and since starting to write this have spoke to a interdependent person who was on the site on the same day with out us noticing said he had the same issues as well). An example: Going through a door and shooting some one, 3 shots to the chest at around 2m and them deciding to shoot back and when asked if he was going to take the hit stood there till he noticed a marshal standing near him.

Up points

- Very impressive site lots of back ways and sneaky sections.

-Full working safe zone with seats working toilets etc

- Variation of game play; some unique to the site .

- fairly quick turn around between games not loads of sitting around and waiting to find out whats happening.

Down Points

- Long brief all though detailed maybe a bit too detailed needs to get direct to the point.

- Deciding to ban BFGS during first game due to one persons incorrect use of them. This seemed a little unfair and punishing

on everyone else, as they were then only left the option to spend out on buying paper pyro rather than their own BFG grenades they had brought with them.

- High level of cheating and sometimes marshals not in shouting distance to resolve an issue.

- Some staff from first meeting seem quite arrogant and grumpy although once you did start to speak to them in depth some did end up being a bit more friendly.

To Finish,

6/10 Could do with a few issues resolving and with such a large site and large amount of players requires more people to take control of certain situations.

Review:

Arrival and before the games start.

When we first arrived, the site location stood out. There is a huge CQB TACTICAL written on the front windows of the building as you drive, so very hard to miss! Upon arriving we were greeted by Bryan one of the owners who proved very friendly which was promising as i can not count how many times i have been to the site and and sitting at the front desk is a grumpy bloke asking for your money and then telling you to move on.

After climbing the stairs we found a very large (someone mentioned about 1100 sq ft?) safe zone with make shift tables benches and plenty of room to lay all your gear with our getting in the way. In the Safe zone it had every thing you need including a site shop stocked up with pistols, ammo, pyro and a few other little bits, A tuck shop selling drinks crisps etc as well as free Tea and Coffee and a enclosed shooting range which all the guns and tested to make sure they are below 350fps before being allowed to play.

Briefing

Briefing covered all the basics and was nice and clear and covered all the ground rules which are common at all airsoft sites as well as a few site specifics, althoughit was quite detailed it did fail to mention a few rules with where later enforced by the marshals with out new players knowing the had done wrong ie no talking when dead, which is a common rule but noticed a lot of it. Also a few pyro rules weren’t mentioned regarding pyro throwing being kept under waist height and thrown under arm, I can understand this with heavy products like BFG’s etc but found it a bit weird with cardboard pyro like mk5s and smokes etc as this made them somewhat useless in some cases due to not being able to get the reach or over a blockade.

Game Play

Games where common games but still great fun starting with a floor clearance game working over 2 floors to see how quick you can do it. Another game was capture the flag, a ground wars, find various things and get it to a certain point as well at the end of the day which was a great idea a pistol and shot gun game to finish it off.

5 Up points

- Friendly Staff which are willing to take on ideas and change things to fit

-Great game site different to many out there.

- Variation of game play; each game was in a different area and different style which made you think.

- Fast pace; not loads of standing around waiting for people to get ready and back to the safe zone after every game

- Marshals always on the ball and any problems were quickly resolved

- Re spawns well located, enable re spawning quickly instead of walking ages to get back in the game.

5 Down Points

- Briefing missed out a few points including dead man talking, pyro launching rules and a few other minor points

- Pyro rules its one of the first sites i have been to to make you throw light weight cardboard pyro below waist height,

- Long distance to walk to toilet

- Parking not clear for first time visitors who arrive slightly before opening

- Smoke grenades in enclosed rooms, In some games there where a lot of smoke in some of the rooms, so bad you couldn’t see more than a few meters away.

To Finish,

8/10 Could do with a few touches and to create a unique game for the site but highly impressed for such a new site i differently can not wait to play again and will be up there soon! Good work so far guys and keep it up!

Voltage:

The average battery for airsoft are 8.4v or 9.6v you can find out which voltage your battery is by counting the about of sells in the battery, each cell is 1.2v so a battery with 8 cells would be 9.6v ( 8 x 1.2)

What’s the difference:

Higher the voltage battery the faster your airsoft gun will fire also know as rye of fire (rof), also higher voltage batteries will last slightly longer using ohms law. The down point for using a higher voltage battery it will damage your gear box quicker as it will be running quicker and harder causing more wear and tear in a shorter time.
