When looking at airsoft guns, you may wonder what the difference is between airsoft green gas and propane.
Green gas is the standard power source for airsoft guns, but propane can also be used. So, what is the difference?
Green gas is a compressed gas that is typically used to power airsoft guns. It is made of propane, silicone oil, and a small amount of lubricant
Propane is a compressed gas that is also used to power airsoft guns. However, it is not as common as green gas because it can damage the gun if not used correctly.
Benefits Of Green Gas
Green gas is the standard power source for airsoft guns because it is less likely to damage the gun than propane. It is also more affordable and available than propane.
Disadvantages Of Green Gas
The main disadvantage of green gas is that it can freeze in cold weather, which can damage the gun.
However, this can be avoided by using a green gas that is designed for cold weather.
Benefits Of Propane
Propane is less likely to damage the gun than green gas because it evaporates quickly. This means that it will not freeze in cold weather and will not damage the gun.
Disadvantages Of Propane
The main disadvantage of propane is that it is more expensive than green gas. It is also less available because it is not as common.

How To Fill Your Green Gas Airsoft Pistol
Filling up a green gas magazine could not be simpler!
Remove your green gas magazine from your airsoft pistol
Take your can of liquidised green gas and remove the lid. Many airsoft players try to refill their magazines by placing the magazine on top of the green gas, but you should actually have the magazine underneath and the green gas canister should be upside down!
You are aiming to transfer airsoft green gas into the magazine from above.
Keeping the nozzle straight, insert it into your magazine valve gently and push it down for five seconds and remove the nozzle. This allows the canister to breathe. Repeat this process (usually three times) until your mag is full.
And that’s it! You now know how to fill your green gas powered gun!
How To Fix A Leaking Airsoft Gas Magazine
If your airsoft gas magazine is leaking, don’t worry! This is a common problem that can be easily fixed.
The first thing you need to do is identify where the leak is coming from. The most common place for leaks is from the O-ring that seals the gas inlet valve
To check if this is the case, simply remove the magazine from your gun and look at the O-ring. If it is damaged, then this is likely the cause of the leak.
If the O-ring is damaged, you will need to replace it. You can do this by removing the old O-ring and replacing it with a new one.
Once you have replaced the magazine O-ring, you will need to reassemble your gas magazine. Make sure that all of the parts are tight and secure before use.
And that’s it! You now know how to fix a leaking airsoft gas magazine.

How To Store Your Airsoft Green Gas
Once you’ve filled up your airsoft gas, it’s important to know how to store it correctly!
You should always keep your green gas in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight. And make sure the area is well ventilated!
You should also never store your green gas near a heat source, as this can cause the gas to expand and leak.
How To Use Green Gas In Cold Weather
If you’re using your airsoft gun in cold weather, it’s important to use a green gas that is designed for cold weather.
These green gases typically have a higher silicone oil content, which prevents the gas from freezing.
You should also make sure to keep your green gas canisters in a warm place, such as your pocket, to prevent the gas from freezing.
Green gas-powered airsoft guns are the most popular type of airsoft gun because they are affordable and easy to use.
Remember – cold is your enemy when it comes to using gas guns outside, so be sure to try and keep your magazines at optimum temperature for a better experience.
