Guarder Airtight Hop-Up Rubbers

Our current Guarder range focuses on airtight hop-up rubbers for two of the most popular Tokyo Marui gas platforms: the MWS M4 gas blowback rifle and the Hi-Capa 4.3 / 5.1 gas blowback pistols. The hop-up rubber does two jobs: it grips the BB to apply backspin for range, and it forms the seal between the nozzle and the barrel. If that seal isn't tight, gas escapes around the BB rather than pushing it, which can lead to lower and less consistent power, along with wasted gas.

An airtight rubber is designed to improve that seal, helping each shot get the most out of the gas in your magazine. It's a sensible, low-cost upgrade when your original rubber is worn, torn or hardened, or when you're building up a gun with other internal upgrades.

Signs Your Rubber Needs Replacing

  • Shots curve off to one side or start to drop short.
  • Hop-up adjustment doesn't seem to make much difference.
  • Power or consistency drops even with warm magazines and fresh gas.
  • The rubber looks split, flattened or has hardened over time.

Fitting Tips

Make sure you choose the rubber listed for your platform: the MWS and Hi-Capa rubbers are not interchangeable. When fitting, seat the rubber squarely on the inner barrel with its window lined up, avoid twisting it, and use only a small amount of silicone oil if needed. Clean the barrel and rubber before reassembly, and take time to re-adjust your hop-up with the BB weight you normally use. If you're unsure about stripping your gun, it's worth asking an experienced player or tech for help.
