The original was made from stainless however, after receiving feedback in testing with a few individuals who have the Stainless part, they wanted slightly more weight.
The production version is made from Brass. More weight, more felt recoil, and this makes the GBBR even more fun to use.
With more recoil, you will need to check your M249 regularly and make sure everything is tight and has not come loose.
The part is easy to fit, and a guide will be uploaded to the YouTube channel.
