Are Vortex optics good for airsoft?

Arguably, they're too good for airsoft - but it's their famous lifetime warranty that has built them a dedicated fanbase amongst players.

One of the world's most renowned makers of military, hunting and civil defence optics, awarded perhaps the two most prestigious contracts in modern optics development: the M157 Fire Control 'Smart' optic (seen atop the US Army's new M7) and the 1-10x24 LPVO equipped to UKSF's L403A1.

Vortex Lifetime Warranty - as good as they say?

You can't beat Vortex as a brand. World-class products that actually last, backed up by lifetime warranty that covers any damage: a BB strike that cracked the lens, a nasty drop to the ground, long-term wear and tear, you name it. Where competitors might shrug or turn their nose up, Vortex's dedication to customers goes above and beyond.

Do gas-blowback airsoft guns require better optics?

Sometimes. There are some high-recoiling GBBR's that will cause an airsoft-grade sight to quickly 'lose zero' - that's when the reticle falls out of line with the shots being fired - diminishing a player's accuracy.

This happens also happens with real-steel optics and shooting, but the force of an intermediate rifle cartridge being fired is several times greater than an airsoft BB being launched. A high-grade optic, such as one from Vortex, is going to handle the scaled-down recoil of an airsoft GBBR with ease.

Vortex is the perfect brand choice for Gas Blowback fans who put quality and realism at the forefront of their airsoft experience. Their unbeatable lifetime warranty, covering any damage with a full replacement, has built them a well-deserved, hardcore following.

Vortex Optics Red Dots, Scopes and Accessories

If you aren't yet familiar with Vortex's credentials, you may have already seen some of their most advanced work yet: the 1-10x LPVO packaged atop the UKSF's new L403A1 rifle, and most spectacular of all, the XM157 FCS developed for the US' M7 rifle.

Red dot sights

Red dots are the go-to choice for most airsoft engagements, giving fast target acquisition with both eyes open. Our Vortex range includes the Crossfire red dot with riser (in black or tan), the Crossfire 2 MOA green dot, the StrikeFire II, the Triumph 2 MOA red dot and the compact Defender-CCW 3 MOA red dot, which suits pistols and low-profile setups.

LPVOs, riflescopes and magnifiers

For players who want magnification, the Crossfire HD 1-4x24 illuminated LPVO and the Venom 1-6x24 SFP AR-BDC3 offer a low 1x setting for close work with extra zoom when you need it. Traditional riflescopes include the Crossfire HD 3-9x40, Crossfire II 3-9x40, Triumph HD 3-9x40, Crossfire HD 2-7x32 rimfire scope and the illuminated Crossfire II 3-12x56 Hog Hunter. The VMX-3T magnifier with built-in flip mount pairs with a red dot and flips aside when you don't need it.

Mounts and care

Get your optic mounted properly with Vortex Hunter 30mm rings (in various heights) or the cantilever mount with 1-inch rings and a 2" offset. A 30mm spirit level helps keep your scope level, while the lens cleaning pen and SPUDZ microfibre cloth keep glass clean in the field.

Choosing a Vortex optic

Think about where you play. In woodland and CQB, a red dot or a 1x-capable LPVO is usually the most practical choice, while longer magnified scopes suit sniper and DMR roles. Check the tube diameter before buying rings, consider whether you'll be wearing a mask or goggles (a riser can help with head position), and make sure your rifle has enough rail space for the optic and mount. Illuminated reticles are useful in dark woodland or indoor sites, while a simple non-illuminated reticle keeps things straightforward and saves battery life.

Vortex caps

Our Vortex collection also includes a wide range of caps, from the Barneveld 608 and Three Peaks to camo and twill designs, many with mesh panels to help keep you cool on hot days. See them all in our baseball caps.
