The best Airsoft BB brand? - BLS

Can BBs make a difference to your Airsoft Gun? Absolutely, which is why we provide only the best brands of BB - Higher precision, shatter-resistant and impeccable quality.

Why should I buy from a Good BB Brand?

Low Quality VS High Quality

Quality Control: Due to the miniscule size of an Airsoft BB, a good manufacturer such as BLS must be incredibly precise and consistent in production. Manufacturing at this scale requires highly advanced machinery and technical knowledge, something BLS gained during its original line of business; cutting jewellery. In total, they have operated in the realms of precision-cutting for over 30 years.

Other brands have their own reasons for starting, though none come quite as close to BLS for dedication and practice. This is why cheaper, lesser-known brands are more often seen with QC issues causing players problems: check through Reddit, and you'll see plenty of examples of mutant-looking BBs that were discovered after wedging themselves into a hop-chamber. This is from a less reliable manufacturing process, where two BBs have been moulded together or improperly cut.

Badly-made BBs can jam magazines, hop-units and barrels, requiring a painstaking disassembly to remove, which simply cannot be done on-the-fly when it's game day. If such a BB ever could make it out the end of a barrel, it wouldn't fly far at all.

What can a BB do to perform better?

All BBs may be tiny, but the difference can be huge between brands.

Put simply, the further from perfect a BB is cut, the more disruption takes place on its flight path. If it is considerably asymmetrical, then it will struggle to follow a straight path. Such deviation may cause you to miss your target!

Below is a detailed explanation, but beware - it is the boring stuff.

'If you shrunk the Earth down to the size of a Ping-Pong ball, the Earth would be smoother than the ball.'

If you've ever heard this explanation before, it applies similarly to different brands of Airsoft BB: tiny differences can have an enormous effect. A BB needs to as close to a perfect sphere as possible - it is propelled on a cushion of air that carries it forwards, whilst the rubber bucking initiates backspin to decrease the loss of momentum.

Picture the backspin in motion - as the BB flies through the air, it is constantly rotating. Being spherical, its entire surface is equally accountable for the path it travels on through the air. Why would we say equally like that? That's because, much like our Earth/Ping-Pong ball analogy, a BB isn't the perfect sphere that it may seem to the distant human eye. Under a microscope, you could make out significant deviations in the surface finish that would ultimately have a serious effect on the rotation of the BB along its flight path.

The Types of BB

Green Tracers, Red Tracers, Biodegradable, Biodegradable Tracers...

Imagine a type of BB and BLS probably already make it. Their research and development team stays ahead of the curve by improving their product as much as possible, whilst producing new types of BB to test the market with.

The make-up of non-standard BBs (such as tracers) is different to a standard 6mm. This typically means that they are not 100% optimised for maximum performance, as they must contain different/extra material to achieve their special purpose.

But for BLS, who are forever improving their output, their special BBs come impossibly close. If you can put your trust into one BB brand to deliver, it's them.

Are better BB's more expensive?

Available in both bags and bottles, BLS is marginally more expensive than rival brands - though only so slightly, remaining competitive with cheaper brands that may seem tempting.

We're big fans of BLS here at Socom Tactical, as are our customers who frequently rinse our shelves of their favourite BB brand. If you'd like to know more from our own experience, ask a member of staff in-store or contact us at online@socomtactical.net.
