Airsoft shotguns are a must for any serious airsoft player. They are incredibly versatile, being able to fire both BBs and pellets, and can be used in close quarters and long-range combat. Airsoft shotguns come in both pump-action and semi-automatic varieties and can be battery-operated or gas-powered.
Pump Action Airsoft Shotguns
Pump action airsoft shotguns are the most common type and are what most people think of when they think of a shotgun. Pump-action shotguns have a lever that must be pumped in order to cock the gun and chamber around. Pump-action shotguns are generally more reliable than semi-automatic shotguns but can be slower to fire.
Semi-automatic Airsoft Shotguns
Semi-automatic airsoft shotguns use either an electric motor or gas piston to cycle the action, cocking the gun and chambering a round with each pull of the trigger. Semi-automatic shotguns generally have a higher rate of fire than pump-action shotguns but can be less reliable.
Electric Airsoft Shotguns
Electric airsoft shotguns are powered by batteries and use an electric motor to cycle the action. Electric shotguns typically have a high rate of fire, but can be less reliable than gas or pump-action shotguns.
Gas Airsoft Shotguns
Gas airsoft shotguns are powered by compressed gas, most commonly green gas or propane. Gas shotguns typically have a high rate of fire, but can be less reliable than electric or pump-action shotguns.
