Description
If you're putting a threaded MAXX Model hop-up set-up into a V2 gearbox, this is the part that ties it all together. The 2026 MAXX threaded cylinder head is CNC machined from stainless steel and has a threaded front, so a MAXX hop-up chamber screws straight onto it instead of just sitting in line with the gearbox. Two O-rings seal against the cylinder for strong, consistent compression.
MAXX's instruction sheet shows it fitted with both their 2026 hop-up chambers and their earlier chambers, using brass spacers and O-rings to set the correct depth. It's made for V2 AEG gearboxes only, so it won't suit V3 or other gearbox types.
Key specs
- Brand: MAXX Model
- Part number: MX-CYL002CHT
- Material: CNC machined stainless steel
- Double O-ring air seal
- Threaded front for MAXX hop-up chambers
- Fits: V2 AEG gearboxes only
- Hop-up chamber and gearbox not included
Fitting tip
Give the O-rings a light coat of silicone grease (we use Abbey Silicone Grease). Tighten the hop-up chamber firmly but don't overtighten: MAXX advise not compressing the O-ring by more than 1¼ turns. Then do a BB drop test. With the nozzle retracted, a BB dropped down the feed tube should sit between the nozzle tip and the bucking lip. If it doesn't, adjust your nozzle length. The MAXX Model adjustable air nozzle (19–22mm) makes this easy.
