Frequently Asked Questions

Need To know more?

How Do Black Cat Smoke Grenades Work?

Black Cat smoke grenades use a ring pull ignition. The ring is protected by a plastic film; once removed, pull the ring to ignite the grenade. Always read and follow the instructions on the product before use.

Can I Use Smoke Grenades at Any Airsoft Site?

Not always. Rules on pyrotechnics vary between sites, and many indoor sites don't allow smoke. Check with your site before bringing smoke grenades to a game.

Are There Restrictions on Buying Smoke Grenades?

Yes. Age restrictions and delivery limitations apply to pyrotechnics. Please check the product page for details before ordering, or contact our team if you have any questions.

Black Cat Smoke Grenades

Black Cat ring pull smoke grenades are a simple, effective way to add realism and tactics to your airsoft and paintball games. Use them to screen an advance or retreat, mark a position or landing zone, or signal your team across the field.

Easy to use

Each grenade uses a ring pull ignition, with the ring secured under a protective plastic film until you're ready to use it. Remove the film and pull the ring to ignite. Always follow the instructions on the product and your site's rules for pyrotechnics.

Eight colours

Choose from blue, white, green, red, orange, purple, pink and yellow. Many teams use different colours to signal different instructions, and white smoke is a popular choice for screening.

Safety and buying pyrotechnics

Only use smoke grenades outdoors, in line with your site's rules, and keep them away from flammable materials. Age restrictions and delivery limitations apply to pyrotechnics, so please check the product page before ordering.

Planning colours with your team

Agreeing a simple colour code before a game makes smoke far more useful. For example, one colour could mean "regroup here", another could mark an objective, and another could call for support. Brightly coloured smoke such as orange, pink and yellow stands out well against woodland, while white is less eye-catching and tends to be used purely for cover.

Getting the most from your smoke

Wind has a big effect on how smoke behaves. Before you pull the ring, check which way the breeze is blowing so the cloud drifts between you and the opposing team rather than back over your own position. Throwing a grenade slightly upwind of where you want the screen usually gives the best coverage, and using two or more together creates a wider screen for a team push.

Carrying and storage

Keep your smoke grenades in a dedicated pouch so they don't snag or get knocked about in a dump pouch. Store them somewhere cool and dry, away from heat and direct sunlight, and keep them in their packaging until you need them. Take used grenades away with you and dispose of them as directed by the site.

Which games suit smoke?

Smoke works well in woodland skirmishes and larger milsim events where teams need to cross open ground or signal over distance. Many sites limit or ban smoke indoors and in CQB areas, so always check your site rules first.
