If you run more than one rifle, or swap between 5.56mm and 7.62mm sized magazines, one pouch that takes both saves you rebuilding your rig every time. The Emerson Gear LCS multi-calibre rifle magazine pouch is made for exactly that, with room for most magazines in that range.
There is no elastic to wear out. Instead, plastic panels front and back grip the magazine once it is inserted. Laser-cut MOLLE loops on the front mean you can stack another pouch on top and carry more ammunition in the same space. Six colours make it easy to match the rest of your loadout.
