Airsoft Radio Accessories
Good communication can win a game, and the right accessories make your radio easier and more comfortable to use in the field. This collection includes the bits that tie your radio, headset and loadout together.
Push-to-talk buttons
The WBD U94 V2 PTT comes with a Kenwood adapter, and the U95 PTT suits Motorola 1-pin radios. For running two radios, the FMA / FCS dual-channel PTT MKII has a durable CNC-anodised aluminium button.
Microphones and headset accessories
The WBD tactical throat microphone picks up your voice from your throat, and WBD headset hook and loop helps mount your headset to your helmet.
Baofeng UV-5R upgrades
The Tridos PTT guard and volume dial kit for the UV-5R helps prevent accidental transmissions and makes the volume easier to adjust. The tactical dual-band VHF/UHF antenna with SMA-female connector is a direct replacement for the standard UV-5R antenna.
PRC-148/152 antenna extension
Emerson Gear's functioning antenna extension cord suits PRC-148 and PRC-152-style radio setups.
Important: some radios can transmit on frequencies that require a licence in the UK. Only transmit on frequencies you're permitted to use, such as licence-free PMR446 with a compatible radio.
Choosing the Right Accessory
The most important thing to check is the connector. Radios from different makers use different plugs, so a PTT designed for Kenwood 2-pin radios won't fit a Motorola 1-pin radio without the right adapter. Look at the product title for the plug type and match it to your radio before you order.
It's also worth thinking about where each piece will sit on your loadout. Running a PTT cable through your plate carrier or chest rig keeps it tidy and stops it snagging, and mounting the PTT button on your chest or shoulder strap puts it within easy reach while you hold your replica. Hook and loop on the headset helps it stay put on a helmet during movement.
Antennas
Swapping the stock antenna on a handheld radio for a longer or more flexible tactical one is a common upgrade. Make sure the connector type matches; the tactical UV-5R antenna in this range uses an SMA-female connector to suit the Baofeng UV-5R.
Brands
This range includes accessories from WBD, FMA, Emerson Gear and Tridos Designs. Pair a PTT matched to your radio with a headset or throat mic and you have a complete, hands-free setup for any game.
